This total production number agrees with Chevrolet's Accumulative Production Report of August 31, 1965.
Caveats:
(1) The total production according to the reported last VIN of each assembly plant totals 375,618 leaving 3,000 units unaccounted for in U.S production:
378,618 - 375,618 (VINS) = 3,000
(2) Production for Canada is reported at 19,132 units; 12,130 L6 and 7,002 V8 Chevelles but are not broken down by specific series/model.
(3) Vintage Vehicle Services documentation indicates 40 13867 Malibu SS convertibles with left hand drive were exported from Oshawa. This is NOT represented in the Export numbers above.
(4) Vintage Vehicle Services documentation indicates 205 L6 and 109 V8 300 convertibles were built for sale in Canada.
