Caveat: Option quantities/prices vary from resource to resource. These quantities (and prices in most cases) were taken from year-specific 'Accumulative Production/Final Model Year Reports' from Chevrolet and 'Options And Accessories When Installed By Chevrolet' price sheets (April 1, 1970) and do not normally include quantities/prices from GM of Canada unless otherwise noted.
Options, Quantity and Cost
It is important to note the items listed and the quantity represent the item individually when ordered as an option and not when they may have come as standard equipment or in a convenience or appearance group on certain models. All costs listed are 1969/70 dollars. Also note some options were priced differently dependant on other options ordered, model the option was ordered on, and depending on what GM literature you're reading.
Quantity numbers may or may not be correct but are the best available figures. Be sure to read the notations below the list for anomalies. Variances in parentheses () are those physically found on car shipper paperwork and show the series/model and/or date found on broadcast copy paperwork.

Note neither the L34 396/402 350hp engine nor the LS5 454-360hp engine is shown. The L34 engine was the base engine with the Z25 option and was not available separately as an option so the number for the L34 engine would be the same as the Z25 option less any L78 optional engines (53599-2144=51455).
The LS5 engine was the base engine for the Z15 option. The LS6 engine was optional when ordering the Z15 option. The number of LS5 engines can be calculated by subtracting the number of LS6 engines (4,475) from the number of Z15 options (8,773), or 4,298.
(1) Although trim code number 795 is shown, it is believed that several optional vinyl trim codes are rolled up into this one total of 143,031. Numberous other vinyl trim codes such as 755, 770, 787, 790, etc. have been found on GM invoices and costed out at $12.65 but only on series/models when cloth interiors are standard. When vinyl trim is the standard (such as in station wagons or when equipped with bucket seats) there is no additional cost on GM invoices.
(2) This single code incorporates all known two-tone color combinations.
** The M38 TH350 transmission is often listed as RPO M40 on some paperwork or as M38 CBC TRANS on buildsheets. The M38 TH350 was the 3-speed automatic used with all L6 and small-block engines while the M40 TH400 was used with big-block engines.
*** I have several 1970 Monte Carlo buildsheets with the P90 tires shown as G70x15 white stripe so the G70x14 may be an error.

According to GM of Canada documentation:
Z15 - 3,306 of the 25,938 Malibu sport coupes were equipped with the
L34 engine
Z25 - 299 of the 25,938 Malibu sport coupes were equipped with the
LS5 engine
Z25 - 231 LS6 engines were imported into Canada for sale in the
Malibu sport coupe
ZL2 - 1,750 of the 25,938 Malibu sport coupes were equipped with the
cowl induction hood
LS3 - approximately 20 of the 13437 300 Deluxe sport coupes built in
Canada were equipped with the LS3 engine
Apprixmately 329 13680 sedan pickups were imported into Canada.
